At Xemplo, our product and engineering teams dedicate a lot of collaboration time to the design and usability of the platform. Ensuring that Xemplo looks great is important, however it is vital that it helps you complete tasks quicker or make strenuous processes easier.
A result of this collaboration is a series of enhancements that we will be rolling out in the coming months. We know that change can be tricky, especially when you’re busy, so we’d like to explain a little more about what we will be enhancing, and give you a bit of a sneak peak into some of the design changes you’ll see in the months ahead.
These changes will deliver a range of benefits for our customer community, and a better platform upon which to build new and improved Xemplo features in the future.
Xemplo updated navigation paves the way for a raft of future enhancements
Key Changes
Here are a few of the initial enhancements being made in Xemplo to look out for next time you login. These enhancements relate to our underlying navigation, and we're minimising the impact to existing users by keeping internal screens consistent with current behaviour. We’ll continue to apply more user experience improvements to key internal screens progressively over the next 12-18 months.
Introducing Global Navigation
We are introducing a global navigation bar, located at the top of the page, that is persistent throughout your experience in Xemplo. This menu provides you with a single entry point into key functions of the application, making everything more discoverable.
The menu also makes it easier to access key user, account and Xemplo management functions from one consistent place.
The Global nav sits at the top of the main pages, and guides users to key sections
Introducing Secondary Navigation
In addition to global navigation we are introducing a secondary navigation bar, located to the left of screen, which provides contextual navigation to the area you are within. For example, if you select HR from the global navigation bar, the secondary navigation assists you with accessing the underlying functions within the HR area of Xemplo. This navigation bar can be collapsed, when needed, to maximise screen real estate.
The collapsable Secondary nav provides access to section pages
Why we are giving Xemplo a new look
Simpler for all Xemplo users
We want to make it easier for new and existing users to find key Xemplo features. Our goal is to reduce the time spent by you educating new users within your organisation on how to use Xemplo. We do this by creating an intuitive experience that requires minimal hand-holding.
Foundations for a better user experience
We're modernising the Xemplo user interface and experience for the future. We’re adopting the latest standards in user interaction and experience design, and setting the stage for more experience-driven changes to come.
What's next?
You will start to see the initial enhancements appear in your Xemplo account in the coming weeks. As we prepare to deliver further enhancements we will keep you up to date via email and articles similar to this.
