Industry Awards (Modern Awards) are legal documents that set the pay rates and conditions of employment. There are more than 100 industry or occupation awards that cover most people who work in Australia. Employees may or may not be covered by an Industry Award. This should be stated on their employment contract.
Awards specify a range of employment conditions, including:
- Pay Rates
- Hours of Work
- Allowances
- Overtime (if Applicable)
