Recalculating on costs can be used to make changes and correct errors in the on-cost margin report after timesheets have been verified, without impacting the timesheet summary.
Prior to the release of this feature, Xemplo users were limited to reverifying timesheets to recalculate on costs. This approach was impractical for many users, as reverifying timesheets also reset any deliberate amendments made via the timesheet summary.

Re-Calculate On Cost Button
The Re-Calculate button is available only on verified timesheets. To use it, click into the timesheet, scroll to the On Costs Summary, and then click Re-Calculate.
Correcting and recalculating on costs with the Re-Calculate button
If you identify an error with an on-cost within a timesheet or on the margin report, first navigate to where the on-cost setting is configured for the corresponding timesheet. For example, if you need to amend the on-cost amount for a specific assignment, go to Assignment and select Edit Assignment, then go to On Costs. Make the required change and click Save.
After making the necessary adjustments, return to the verified timesheet, go to On Costs Summary, and click Re-Calculate.
Recalculating On Costs and the On Cost Margin Report
Since the On Cost Margin report pulls data from timesheets, recalculating the on-costs in the On Costs Summary section of the timesheet will update the data in the margin report when it is rerun.
Remember:
When changing and recalculating on costs, be aware that on-cost values can be configured at two levels:
Engagement Level: This is where the on-cost amount is set if it differs for individual engagements and their corresponding assignments.
Assignment Level: This is an optional override where the on-cost amount can be set differently for each assignment associated with an engagement, if necessary.
